Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 6:15 PM Friday to an auto accident with injuries at Arlington Heights Road and Hawthorne. A three-car crash injured at least one person who was unconscious and required the paramedics to remove him from his car.

Apparently one car was northbound on Arlington Heights Road when a second car either crossed eastbound on Hawthorne or turned left in front of the northbound car. The northbound car spun around after impact and ended up on the parkway on the northeast corner.

The second car then hit a car that was waiting at a stop sign on westbound Hawthorne at Arlington Heights Road.

Possible minor injuries in the car that was northbound on Arlington Heights Road, as a second ambulance responded for the people in the northbound car.

Prior to arrival of firefighter/paramedics, a nurse who lives nearby maintained an airway by gently holding up the unconscious man’s head — the action also stabilized his neck.
