Illinois Tornados Near Peoria, Streator, Dwight and Kankakee

Tornado caught on video in Yates City, Illinois between 7:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Saturday (blackcloudmedia.net).

The Peoria County Sheriff’s Office said the tornado touched down in Elmwood, Illinois. Structural damage to older historical buildings in downtown Elmwood from tornado in Yates City and Elmwood heading east toward Peoria, Illinois. Power outages, ruptured gas lines, down telephone and data lines also reported.

Tornado reported near a shopping center in Peoria at Route 150 and 91 about 8:00 p.m. Saturday.

Tornado sighted by trained spotter in Lostant, Illinois at 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Tornado sighted by police near Route 18 and Interstate 39 (I-39) at 8:41 p.m. Two semi-trailer trucks blown off of I-39, just south of Lostant. Both trucks were discovered later several feet into a cornfield.

Two tornados reported on the ground west of Streator about 8:50 p.m. A trained spotter reported a 50-foot wide tornado. Severe damage to homes in Streator in the 600 block of Powell Street, Hall Street, minor injuries and some people trapped in their homes after a tornado struck the town about 9:10 p.m. Saturday. Multiple structures damaged in Streator, especially the south side of town.

A tornado was sighted by police near Dwight, Illinois at about 9:15 p.m., moving east toward Kankakee. The tornado was sighted two miles east of Route 170 along Route 17.

Illinois State Police confirmed a tornado just west of Interstate 55 and south of Route 17 at about 9:26 p.m. Illinois State Police followed a tornado on the ground three miles east of Dwight and one mile south of State Highway 17 at about 9:35 p.m. Saturday.

A trained spotter reported a tornado dissipated at 9:47 p.m. 17000W and Route 115 in Kankakee, Illinois.

A trained spotter reported a tornado that keeps touching down and lifting on Route 115 at 10:01 p.m. Friday.

A trained spotter reported a tornado in Cullom, Illinois at 10:13 p.m.

Two tornados sighted on the ground near St. Anne about 7 miles south of Kankakee, Illinois at about 10:20 p.m. Trained spotter sighted a tornado at 10:55 p.m. in St. Anne. At least one house completely destroyed at 3795S AND 6000E. Ruptured gas lines reported, numerous trees down, roofs blown off houses near St. Anne.
