Best Taser Video: Clackamas River, Oregon; Police Taser Armed Carjacker After Foot Pursuit

#ad▼

Authorities in Oregon got into a foot chase with an alleged carjacker until he had nowhere else to go but into a river. Officers eventually used a stun gun on the guy thinking he was armed. Video was altered at source.

Video shows carjacking suspect running along rocky shoreline of Clackamas River with police in pursuit with K-9 unit. The suspect slips into the river and gets back to shore (video is edited).

Can a suspect be tasered when he is wet?
The answer is ‘Yes!’ (especially when he has a gun in his waistband.)

Police taser the man as he is standing, wet on the rocky shore. Video shows barbs hitting the man and causing him to fall to the ground. Police pull what appears to be a handgun from the suspect’s waistband.

The man suspected of stealing a woman’s car from a grocery store parking lot while wearing a “Mad Hatter”-style hat was arrested Tuesday after a chase that started at Interstate 205 and 10th Street in Clackamas County. The Clackamas County Sheriff pursued the suspect in a vehicle chase that converted to a foot pursuit in the High Rocks are of Oregon City.

  1. That fall into the river pales in comparison to Dr. Kimble’s (Harrison Ford’s) jump near the Cheoah Dam, Tapoco, North Carolina LOL

  2. Way to bring a taser to a gun fight. That guy was going for his waistband, no doubt about it. He definately was not putting his hands up and away from his body like I’m sure every good police officer would be ordering him to do at that point. Super Trooper there was lucky both barbs hit the guy and did their job. If only one of them missed, the taser would have been ineffective and the guy could have drew and fired before the officer could react to get a round off. I personally think it’s foolish to combat a threat with a lesser tool when most police training is contrary. Someone is not complying with orders, spray them, someone brings a fist, you bring a club (or taser), someone brings a knife, you bring a gun, someone brings a gun, you bring a gun and all of your friends that have guns. Simple. Stay alive and put the bad guy in jail, the hopital or the ground. It’s HIS choice on how HE acts.

  3. Scott H,
The police officer has his handgun in his right right hand taking aim. He looks more than ready to use the lethal force if the non-lethal force had failed. I seriously doubt the perp would be able to pull his gun out of his waistband and pull the trigger before the police officer could pull his trigger on his handgun, which was already drawn.
