Haiatian Milk Mustache: Why Do People from Haiti Have White on Their Upper Lips?

Citizens of Haiti have started putting toothpaste or white mentholatum above their upper lips, like a mustache, to help protect from the smelling the odor of dead bodies, killed in the earthquake Tuesday. Some citizens also believe the application helps protect them from harmful substance in the air.

People are also putting herbs up their noses to avoid the smell dead bodies.
