Two cases of random gunfire in the suburbs were reported in the last two days. In Zion, a male/black fired shots as he fled the scene of a car accident on Friday afternoon, July 3, 2009.
In Northlake about 6:00 a.m. Saturday police alerted area departments of a vehicle with a woman driver and two Hispanic passengers. Three shots rang out from the car early Saturday morning. The car was described as a white four-door with a red hood. Northlake police officers apprehended a male Hispanic offender related to the case. He possessed a sawed-off shotgun.
