Buffalo Grove Fire Department knocked down a house fire in about 15 minutes in the 3000 block of Sandalwood Road about 2:20 p.m. Sunday. The fire may have started in the basement and made its way to the first floor.
A dog died in the fire, but no other occupants were home at the time of the fire.
Fire departments from Arlington Heights, Long Grove, Lincolnshire, Countryside, Palatine Rural, Rolling Meadows and Lake Bluff assisted Buffalo Grove Fire Department.
