Dry, Cold Air Makes Us a Little Uncomfortable in the Chicago Area

A wave of chapped lips, sore throats, complaints of dry skin and burned out sinuses were going around this week. First, a spring snow storm and then cold air and a blast of cold, dry air. Minimum relative humidity percentage readings were in the low 30’s Friday and Saturday. When the air is that dry, especially after enduring a long winter, people complain of dry, flaking skin, sore throats and uncomfortable sinuses.
