Schaumburg police arrested Adam J. Moyers, 19, a carnival worker that was assigned to the fun house at Septemberfest over the Labor Day weekend, and charged him with two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault. The arrest occurred after a child’s parents reported inappropriate contact the day following the alleged offense and after a Schaumburg police investigation.
According to police, Moyers was monitoring the fun house on Saturday, September 2, 2012 when an older sibling of the child used a slide inside the fun house, but the younger sibling became frightened. The sibling of the victim came out to tell the father to help the younger child. Moyers stopped the father and all other patrons from entering the fun house, and went inside to ‘help’ the 3-year-old child, and allegedly had the inappropriate contact with the child.
Fantasy Amusement Co. — a family owned company – has stated they are fully cooperating with police, and conducts background checks on all employees, as required by law.
Moyers, who apparently has no known criminal history, was booked at Cook County Jail on September 7, 2012.
Schaumburg police believe that Moyers may have committed similar offenses to child victims in the Chicago area. Moyers is described as a male/white Hispanic 5’7″ and 240 LBS. Schaumburg police urge any citizens with information about the subject or any possible suspicious incidents to report the incident to the police department covering the location where the suspicious incident occurred.
Bail for Adam Moyers was set at $200,000 the morning of Friday September 7, 2012 at the Cook County Circuit Courthouse in Rolling Meadows. Moyers’ next court date is September 28 2012.
