A hot piece of metal the size of a brick crashed through the roof of a moving company warehouse in Jersey City, New Jersey — splintering a wooden beam and crashing into a shelf. The metal was too hot to touch for about 30 minutes. FAA officials have investigated and reported that the metal is not from an aircraft because it is cast iron.
No one was injured at the Al Smith Moving Company where the owner was using a fork lift a few feet from the incident.
It was later determined that the metal came from a wood chipper operating nearby.
