Complaint About Energy Sales Person on Portsmith; General Complaints About Spark Energy

Arlington Heights police received a solicitor complaint about 6:15 p.m. Thursday in the 1700 block of Portsmith Lane. An energy company representative was reported to be asking too many questions about the resident’s electric bill.

Spark Energy has been in neighborhoods in Arlington Heights during late summer weeks.

A search on Google and ConsumerAffairs.com shows complaints about billing irregularities, broken promises about discounts, electric bills that are double the usual amount from the electric company, an extra $8.99 fee per month if a minimum 1000 kWh is not used, and persistently harassing sales people.

Neighborhood complaints in Arlington Heights have also included reports that representatives imply they are working for Com Ed.
