Apple News (also known simply as News) is a mobile app and computer app functioning as a news aggregator developed by Apple Inc.
The News app operated on Apple’s iOS and macOS operating systems. There is no universal web version.
The iOS version was launched with the release of iOS 9. It is the successor to the Newsstand app included in previous versions of iOS. Users can read news articles with it, based on publishers, websites and topics they select, such as The New York Times, technology or politics.
Apple claims that Apple News provides “News you can trust. All in one place.”
In 2018 Apple claimed that “Apple News provides the best coverage of current events, curated by editors and personalized for you. Dive into your favorite topics or discover new ones. And stay up to date with rich videos, breaking news notifications, and subscriptions to some of your favorite publications.”
