Winthrop Harbor police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 11:57 AM Monday August 7, 2017 to a report of a person hit by a train near the Metra UP-N line train station at Winthrop Harbor, 42.482392, -87.816271 (7th St and Ravine Dr Winthrop Harbor, Il). Crews on scene discovered a person was under the train near the train station.

A Flight for Life medical helicopter was dispatched to a landing zone at 9th and Monroe at Village Park, almost one mile west of the scene.

Inbound UP-N Metra train #368 was scheduled to stop at Winthrop Harbor at 11:43 p.m.
