Arlington Heights police arrested a man about 11:00 p.m. Monday, May 1, 2017, facing allegations that he beat and abducted his ex-girlfriend, as she left her workplace on Algonquin Road west of Golf Road in Arlington Heights.

Justin D. Lueck, age 32, of the block of 400 Eagle Drive in Elk Grove Village was charged with unlawful restraint, kidnapping, and domestic battery charges after Arlington Heights police began an investigation resulting from a phone call by at least one witness, and a phone call from the victim. The suspect’s ex-girlfriend was able to call 9-1-1 after escaping the suspect’s vehicle in Rolling Meadows.

According to a report to Arlington Heights police, the woman was leaving work in the block of 900 West Algonquin Road about 10:45 p.m. Monday when Lueck confronted her and battered her. He then forced her into his vehicle and drove west on Algonquin Road. The confrontation was witnessed by a Good Samaritan, who called 9-1-1.

According to police, when the suspect stopped his vehicle in the block of 5400 New Wilke Road (just south of Algonquin Road), Rolling Meadows, the victim was able to escape his vehicle. Lueck then chased the victim and shoved her, causing her to fall and land on her back and head. She was able to get away and call 9-1-1 from a business in the block of 1700 West Algonquin Road (just west of New Wilke Road), Rolling Meadows.

Several police officers responded to the locations reported, and also responded to Lueck’s apartment in Elk Grove Village after gathering information. Lueck was arrested at his apartment without incident, and transported to Arlington Heights Police Department Headquarters by midnight Monday/Tuesday.

Police did not report that the woman was injured, and there was no word of paramedics being dispatched to the area Monday night.

Lueck and the woman had dated for about two years prior to their breakup.

A Cook County judge set bail at $150,000 Wednesday for Justin D. Lueck, 6’0″ 220 LBS for the unlawful restraint, kidnapping, and domestic battery charges. Lueck is scheduled to appear at Cook County Circuit Court Rolling Meadows on May 25, 2017. If convicted of kidnapping, a felony, he could face seven years in prison.
