Man Starts Fire in Vacant House at Council Trail and Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights

Firefighters quickly extinguish a fire intentionally set in a vacant house on East Council Trail in Arlington Heights.

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 11:48 PM Sunday to a report of a vacant house on fire at 121 East Council Trail Arlington Heights, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report from a man that claimed to have started a fire inside a vacant house at Arlington Heights Road and Council Trail.

An Arlington Heights police officer, first on the scene, pulled a man from the house. The alleged trespasser in the vacant house was possibly intoxicated.

Engine 3 firefighters quickly entered the house and pulled a hose line to the second floor and extinguished the fire by 12:02 a.m.

Squad 1’s crew also searched the house for other occupants, and reported the house was clear on the second floor by 12:06 a.m.

One man was transported to Northwest Community Hospital, and was possibly in police custody for intentionally setting a fire inside the house.
