Kickoff time for Super Bowl LI between the Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots is scheduled for 6:30 PM ET / 5:30 PM CT on Sunday February 5, 2017.
Luke Bryan is scheduled to perform the national anthem, and the cast of Hamilton is scheduled to perform “America the Beautiful.” Kickoff time could be a little off the scheduled time.
Super Bowl LI features a matchup of the highest-scoring offense in the NFL and the defense that allowed the fewest points. The Falcons offense, led by Matt Ryan and Julio Jones, averaged 33.75 points per game during the regular season and scored 80 points in the two wins in the postseason.
New England led the NFL with 18 rushing touchdowns in the regular season. The Patriots’ defense allowed an average of only 15.63 points and gave up only 33 in a both playoff victories — only a slightly higher average.
While New Yorkers will be rooting for the Atlanta Falcons, a lot of Chicagoans will be rooting for New England, and hoping “Jimmy G” — Arlington Heights native Jimmy Garoppolo #10 — will get a little time on the field.
Lady Gaga, who sang the national anthem last year, is scheduled to perform for halftime.
