President Donald J. Trump made his remarks about “Fake Tears” during a meeting with small business leaders, saying he’d estimate there is a 5 percent chance Senator Chuck Schumer’s tears were real.
Schumer is a senior U.S. senator from New York, and on November 16, 2016, was unanimously elected Senate Minority Leader to succeed the retiring Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid.
