Police Car Vs Metra Train Camp McDonald Rd and Milwaukee North Central Service, Prospect Heights

Prospect Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 3:47 PM Wednesday to a report of crash with injuries at 42.095138, -87.909148 (1005 East Camp Mcdonald Road Prospect Heights, Il). Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that train crash with a car at the Wisconsin Central railroad tracks.

First crews on the scene reported a Prospect Heights police SUV crashed with Metra Passenger Train #116.

No passengers on board the train reported any injuries immediately after the crash.

There was no extrication. Mount Prospect Fire Department handled the call, as both Prospect Heights and Mount Prospect firefighters were dispatched to the scene.

The police officer was reported to have minor injuries.

Metra train 116 remained stopped at the crossing during the evening rush hour at 5:15 p.m., Metra said in an alert on its website.

Train 111, scheduled to depart Union Station at 4:58 p.m., was canceled, according to Metra. Instead, train 113 will make additional stops at Wheeling, Prairie View, Mundelein, Washington Street and Lake Villa to accommodate passengers waiting for trains.

Railroad crews and police were on the scene investigating.
