Suspicious Person Checked Locked Door with Residents Home on Carlyle Place, Stonegate Neighborhood

#ad▼

A suspicious person checked a rear, side door at a house in Stonegate neighborhood about 7:40 p.m. Tuesday November 29, 2016. The offender tested a locked door with a firm attempt to twist the outdoor door lever while residents were home at a house on Carlyle Place north of Wilshire Lane.

There was no description of the suspicious person available.

Several thefts occur in residences in Arlington Heights with no signs of forcible entry. An offender only needs to get lucky that a resident forgot to lock a door, and make quick entry into a room with an outer door, find a valuable, such as an Apple iPad, and flee with the valuable.
