Donald J. Trump Full Victory Speech after becoming the President-elect of the United States.

President-elect Donald Trump addressed supporters as the 45th President of the United States in New York City: “Now it is time for America to bind the wounds of division,” Trump added. “I pledge to every citizen of our land that I will be president for all of Americans, and this is so important to me.” He told the cheering crowd, “Working together, we will begin the urgent task of rebuilding our nation and renewing the American dream.

Moments from Donald Trump’s victory speech: At about 3 am on Wednesday, Donald Trump addressed supporters for the first time after his historic victory.

Trump surprised pundits through the entire nomination process. He survived even though he didn’t follow the mold of political correctness. Pundits said the methods that brought him success in the primary election would not work in the run against Hillary Clinton.

He emphasized winning, and survived his opponents’ spotlight and even some hysterics regarding his personality flaws. Trump trailed Democrat Hillary Clinton in polling averages for nearly the entire election cycle, meeting daily media attacks characterizing his reputation as divisive, sexist and racist.

Trump’s success was accompanied by a wider victory for the Republican Party, which retained the House and appeared in position to maintain Senate control.

Trump commended Hillary Clinton for having “worked very long and very hard” over her political career, and said she waged “a very very hard-fought campaign.”

Trump emphasized taking care of veterans and rebuilding national infrastructure.

With Tuesday’s victory, Trump is now considered by supporters as a brash winner and political outsider who captured a loyal populist following, resonating with Americans fed up with establishment politics, the mainstream media, and an inappropriate and murky management of immigration procedures and anti-terrorism. However, opponents are classifying the victory, as CNN commentator Van Jones called it, “white-lash.” Van Jones appeared to criticize bigotry with his own form of racism, saying, “This was a white-lash,” he said. “This was a white-lash against a changing country. It was a white-lash against a black president in part, and that’s the part where the pain comes.”
