Algonquin police and Algonquin-Lake in the Hills FPD firefighter/paramedics responded about 5:30 PM Saturday to a report of a three-motorcycle crash with two vehicles and injuries at Route 31and Algonquin Road Algonquin, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics on scene discovered that three motorcycles were traveling north on Route 31 when they crossed into oncoming southbound traffic and crash with two southbound vehicles.
Alex J. Misurelli of Crystal Lake was pronounced dead at the scene about 6:02 p.m.
The other two motorcyclists were transported to local hospitals. One was later flown by medical transport helicopter to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.
The driver of one of the cars was also transported to a local hospital.
Algonquin police and the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team investigated the crash at the scene for at least 3 hours after the crash.
