Fire! 70 Yr-Old Man Backs Into Pump, Ignites Gas Pump, Children Rescued from Another Car in Farmington, Connecticut

Cars engulfed in flames after man backs into pump, ignites fire at Connecticut gas station. Police say everyone had time to evacuate the area following the crash.

A 70-year-old man accidentally backed into a gas pump at a Citgo station at 286 Main Street in Farmington, Connecticut on Monday at about 6:45 p.m.

The impact dislodged and tilted the pump cover, which hit a car parked on the other side of the pump with two children sitting inside the back seat of the car.

In the gas station security video, a female adult is seen immediately removing the two children from the back seat to a safe distance.

No injuries were reported.

Two cars were totalled by the fire, and three other cars were damaged.
