Facebook Tops Estimates as Mobile Ads Surge

Published on Jul 27, 2016July 27 — Facebook reported second-quarter revenue that beat analysts’ projections, lifted by sales of video and Instagram ads. Bloomberg’s Scarlet Fu and Cory Johnson take a look at the numbers on “What’d You Miss?”

Facebook’s audience is getting bigger — 1.7 billion people use Facebook once a month, but people are also using Facebook more frequently.

Facebook is no mobile first with mobile representing 80 percent of its ad revenue — up from 76 percent in the second quarter of 2015.

Facebook is also aiming to corner the video market, and to start placing ad in videos that people upload.
