Natural Gas Leak Behind Barnes & Noble on West Rand Rd Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 1:18 PM Wednesday to a report of a gas odor at the former Barnes & Noble location, 13 West Rand Road Arlington Heights, Il. Firefighter/paramedics received a report that a utility worker flagged down a police officer and reported smelling gas outside at the back of the building.

A firefighting crew on arrival reported an odor, but no explosive levels detected on the meters.

Nicor was called to the scene.
