AUDIO: San Bernardino Police radio communications regarding gathering information and identification of Syed Farook as a suspect, and a possible background check of Syed Farook by Los Angeles Police Department one week before the mass shooting.

Police in San Bernardino and/or Los Angeles apparently ran criminal history and background information on terrorist shooter Syed Farook and may have investigated him one week before the mass shooting at the Inland Regional Center on Wednesday December 2, 2015 that killed 14 and injured 17. The police radio communications were available on Broadcastify.com.

Federal and local authorities have told the public that neither of the terrorist shooters — Syed Farook or his wife, Tashfeen Malik — had raised any suspicion or were known to law enforcement and US intelligence prior to the mass shooting.

In police radio communications, Syed Farook is identified by name by Unit Ida 9 at about 11:40am PT, just 30 minutes after the mass shooting incident. The message about Farook initiated from a county worker, who noted that Farook had been “acting nervous” and had left the holiday party twenty minutes before the shooting began. Police unit Ida 9 passed the information from the witness up to San Bernardino dispatch.

Next at about 12:08pm, the San Bernardino police dispatcher communicates with an officer named Travis after she learned the name “Syed Farook” was being referenced as one officer asked another if he had forwarded a message about the suspect. The police dispatcher says, “Reference that name, I believe one of the X-RAY guys was working that name up for something last week. I’ll have to check.”

In another communication about 12:20pm, another officer or Sheriff unit relays information about Farook saying, “I just got some info from LAPD that they have information on one of your suspects. I heard that somebody was trying to INV that guy. Can you find out who I can give this information to?”

At about 12:23pm a Sheriff unit says, “[static] I had received a call [static] that had some information that they had ran the guy or something last week and I was going to try to give it to your intel guy.”

An unknown police officer or command officer says, “Okay, that’s what I was trying to get you to. If you’re at the mobile command – uh, what’s your 20 [LOCATION]? The two law enforcement officers arrange to get the information exchanged.

The communication occurred before the police pursuit that resulted in a shootout and the termination of both terror suspects Syed Farook and his wife Tashfeen Malik on San Bernardino Avenue on December 2, 2015.

CBS Los Angeles: Surveillance video and records confirmed Farook was shooting at the Riverside Magnum Range in Riverside. Crystal Cruz reports.

The couple were radicalized and had been for quite some time, according to the FBI. CBS Los Angeles Dave Lopez reports.
