Fireplace Smoke: Firefighters Respond to Ventilate Apartment, Check Resident on Goebbert Rd, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 11:31 PM Saturday to a report of a person overcome by smoke in an apartment at 2388 South Goebbert Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a resident put water on a fire in a fireplace after something smelled “funny.” Smoke filled the apartment.

Arlington Heights Fire Department responded with a fire response, but held up extra companies as soon as it was confirmed there was no active fire.

Firefighters went to work immediately ventilating the apartment. Paramedics also evaluated the resident.
