Things to bring to a rock concert &

things to know about rock concerts …

Allow time for parking. If venues are not well organized, you might miss part of the concert waiting in line to park.

Whether concerts are performed indoors, with the crowd seated, or out in the open, with the crowd standing in front of a stage; when fans are standing up, they are more likely to expend their energy in the form of dancing or jumping about excitedly. Be careful you don’t get punched or backhanded by an out-of-control drunk.

Be prepared for lousy bathrooms. You can workout those details yourself.

Bring a pair of foam earplugs for hearing protection. You probably don’t have to wear them the whole time, but they’re a good idea to wear at least part of the time to avoid hearing damage and the hiss of Tinnitus later during the night or the following day. Some people (attention women with your high pitch voices) tend to give out a constant shrill scream during their favorite songs. That’s a good time to pop in the foam ear plugs. Noise levels at concerts hover between 110 and 120 decibels. NIOSH (National Institute of Occupational Health & Safety) recommends that exposure to noise at those levels not exceed one minute 29 seconds

Keep your belongings close. Check with the venue organizers by website or telephone, You probably won’t be allowed to carry in a 35 mm camera with a big lens. You might not be allowed to bring in a waist bag or fanny pack or back pack. Binoculars are great to have if they are allowed, but most big concert venues have big screen TV’s so you can see the artists up close.

Plan your exit. No matter what conditions might develop with a mass of people, you might want to be aware of your nearest exit. If you want to get out fast, you might want to leave before the encore songs are played, so you get a head start out of the parking lot. Sometimes its cool to hear the song echoing throughout the venue as you are heading for your car.
