Blackhawks Tickets, Bulls Tickets Scam Alert from Arlington Heights Police Department

#ad▼

The Arlington Heights Police Department is warning residents of a new scam that has been reported to police. Scammers are posting Chicago Blackhawks and Chicago Bulls tickets at artificially low prices on the Craigslist and Backpage websites.

When potential victims contact the scammers, the scammers instruct the victims to go to CVS stores and wire them money via Moneygram and Western Union. The scammers tell the potential victims that they will email them the tickets once payment is received via wire. Payment is sent, but no tickets are ever emailed to the victims. Once payment is sent via wire, it is almost impossible to retrieve the funds as they are instantly collected by the scammers at the receiving end. If you find that you are a victim of this scam, Arlington Heights Police Department urges that you report the crime to the police.
