Phil Rudd, drummer for the rock band AC/DC, is accused of trying to hire a hit man to kill two people. He was in court to face charges in New Zealand on Thursday.

Phil Rudd’s career with AC/DC spans from 1975 until 1983, and from 1994 to the present.

Rudd was charged with attempting to procure a murder, along with drug charges, following a police raid on his waterfront home in Tauranga, New Zealand. AC/DC released a statement clarifying that the tour promoting Rock or Bust would continue …

“We’ve only become aware of Phil’s arrest as the news was breaking. We have no further comment. Phil’s absence will not affect the release of our new album Rock or Bust and upcoming tour next year.”
