Prescription Drug Take-Back Day, Saturday, September 27, 2014 from 10 AM – 2 PM

#ad▼

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Arlington Heights Police Department will coordinate efforts to remove potentially dangerous drugs from homes by hosting a National Prescription Take-Back Initiative held on Saturday, September 27 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Arlington Heights Police Department, 200 East Sigwalt.

The Take-Bake Initiative will provide an opportunity for the public to surrender unwanted, expired and unused pharmaceuticals and unwanted over-the-counter medication to law enforcement officers for proper disposal. This will be a great opportunity for those who have accumulated unused or unwanted prescription drugs to safely dispose of them.

The Saturday, September 27 Prescription Take-Back program is free and anonymous. Tablets, capsules and all other solid dosage forms will be accepted. Intravenous solutions, injectables and syringes will not be accepted.

The positive national response to this program over the last eight events has resulted in the removal of more than 4.1 million pounds (2,123 tons) of prescription medication from circulation.

For more information, please call Police Commander Nathan Hayes at 847-368-5343 or Detective Russ Mandel at 847-368-5362.
