Buffalo Grove High School Power Out: Truck Hits Power Line Causes Widespread Power Trouble

A semi-trailer truck hit a power line near the Toyota dealership at Dundee Road and Old Arlington Heights Road about 11:45 a.m. Monday. Buffalo Grove High School lost power and stop lights as far as Euclid Avenue and Dryden Avenue experienced disruptions.

Com Ed wires are down across Dundee Road near Old Arlington Heights Road. Buffalo Grove Police have shut down eastbound Dundee Road at Arlington Heights Road, northbound Old Arlington Heights Road at Arlington Heights Road and westbound Dundee Road at Weidner Road. Westbound Dundee at Buffalo Grove Road was closed for a short time. Heavy traffic congestion occurred during the lunch hour at Arlington Heights Road north of Hintz to Lake Cook Road and the entire length of Dundee Road in Arlington Heights and the west-central part of Buffalo Grove.

Buffalo Grove Fire Department managed the scene. Buffalo Grove Police caught up with the semi-trailer truck at Dundee Road and Buffalo Grove Road immediately after the accident.
