CNN interviews Paul Strophy, attorney for wealthy business owner, Shaun Goodman, was sentenced to 364 days in a work release program after being arrested for his seventh DUI.
Shaun Goodman was arrested last December after a police chase in Washington state that reached speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour when Henry Griffen, a passenger in the Ferrari driven by Goodman, jumped out of the car when Goodman slowed down to negotiate a turn. Griffen then dialed 911.
Instead of facing jail time, Goodman was sentenced to a year of work release. The sentence last week involves a one year of work release, which allows him to spend his days freely — but requires him to spend nights in the Thurston County Jail. The judge said in a statement that Goodman is an important businessman in the community and that “it wouldn’t be fair for him [and] his employees would suffer if he went to real jail.”
