Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 3:00 PM Monday to a report of crash with injuries at Dryden Avenue and Frederick Street Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics initially received a report of a crash at Dryden Avenue and Hawthorne Street with one vehicle into a tree. Firefighters and police arrived to find the crash occurred at the intersection of Dryden Avenue and Frederick Street.

Police are investigating the crash and do not comment on crash investigations, but it appears that the driver of a Chevy Tahoe was southbound on Dryden Avenue when a St. Viator High School student either turned left out of the parking lot of St. Viator to go southbound on Dryden Avenue, or was proceeding straight across Dryden Avenue to travel westbound on Frederick Street. Parking lot exit markings and curbing require a right turn to northbound Dryden Avenue or a left turn to southbound Dryden Avenue. After the crash, the Subaru was parked westbound on Frederick Street west of Dryden Avenue. The force of the crash severely damaged the left wheel and left fender of the Tahoe, and pushed the Tahoe into tree, causing additional severe damage to the front end of the Tahoe.

The driver of the Tahoe appeared shaken up with possible minor injuries, but refused medical treatment and transportation from paramedics.

A person who identified herself as a St. Viator dean of students on public property interfered with photography of the Subaru — citing she was protecting the identity of her student.
