EIU Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo Selected To Associated Press FCS All-America Team

EIU Football Wins 57 to 24 over Illinois State on September 14, 2013.

Eastern Illinois quarterback and Rolling Meadows High School football star Jimmy Garoppolo was selected to The Associated Press FCS All-America team on Wednesday.

Garoppolo passed for 5,050 yards and 53 touchdowns and won the Walter Payton award as the top player in FCS. The senior led Eastern Illinois (12-2) to the quarterfinals of the NCAA playoffs.

As a senior at EIU in 2013, Garoppolo broke Tony Romo’s school records for career passing touchdowns, yards and passing touchdowns in a season.
