Arlington Heights Weather Forecast: Steady Temps Today (High 29), Then Dropping Friday (High 21) And Saturday (High 20)

#ad▼

Chicagoland weather radar [LIVE RADAR] shows light snow precipitation passing over Lake Michigan into southern Michigan. No precipitation is expected until a chance of light snow Sunday about 1:00 p.m.

Satellite images show clouds over much of Illinois and with a band over southern Wisconsin. There will be some showing of blue skies today, but the real clearing will not occur until about 2:00 p.m. Friday.

Escaping to Florida by driving is probably not a good idea the next two days, but at least we’ll miss the ice storms to the south, and the heavy snow that already hit Minnesota to the north.

Temperatures are expected to be steady today around 27-29 degrees until about 5:00 p.m. A wind chill of 0 is expected Friday morning about 8:00 a.m. with 10 mph winds gusting to 15 mph. The actual temperature is expected to drop to 13 degrees. Friday’s high is expected to only rise to 21 degrees with a wind chill high of 9 degrees. The wind chill low Saturday morning is expected to be -5 degrees with an actual temperature low of 9 degrees. Saturday’s high temperature is only expected to rise to 19-20 degrees between 1-4 p.m.

Winds Saturday morning are expected to diminish about 11:00 a.m. from 10 mph to 8 mph from the northwest. Gust to 15 mph are expected to stop about 11:00 a.m.

Single digits lows — maybe to zero — are in the outlook for Monday-Tuesday overnight and Tuesday-Wednesday overnight. Wind chills could be down to -15 degrees.

Coldest weather in 2-3 years may hit the northwest United States.

Skilling says first chance for snow cover might happen Sunday.
