Identity Released of Fatal Train Victim, Struck By Metra Express Train in Park Ridge

Park Ridge police have identified the victim killed by a Metra express train #631 in Park Ridge on Tuesday, October 29, 2013.

George P. Nuyttens, Jr., of the 1800 block of Hemlock Place, Schaumburg, was at the north end of the station platform when he was struck and killed by an express train scheduled to leave downtown Chicago at 4:45 p.m. and due in Barrington at 5:27 p.m.

Service on Metra’s Union Pacific Northwest line was interrupted following the incident.

The Park Ridge Police Department is investigating the incident. It is unknown if another train was in the station at the time of the incident. Train 633 has a scheduled stop at Park Ridge at 5:22 p.m. weekdays.
