Theft of Backpack with Expensive Contents Near Dundee Rd and Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report about 6:01 PM Friday of a theft at Firestone automotive service center, 3431 North Arlington Heights Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders took a backpack that was left for a short time unattended in a parking lot.

A male victim forgot that he left his backpack outside in the parking lot as he left his car for service. When the victim returned after recalling that he forgot his backpack, the backpack was not there.

Items missing are described as a black backpack, a Dell laptop valued at $800 that was inside the backpack, and a Windows Surface tablet valued at $500 and various documents that were also inside the backpack.

The crime is reported to have occurred on Friday, October 25, 2013 between 5:15 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
