Apple’s iPad Event: “We Still Have a Lot to Cover”

#ad▼

Trying to guess what Apple will unveil Tuesday? Is it a bigger iPad, a fingerprint sensor, or smart covers in more colors? CNET’s Sumi Das has a preview of what might be revealed at the upcoming iPad event.

The Apple iPad Mini is expected to gain the high-resolution retina display that came out on last-year’s full-size iPad.

There are some rumors of an Apple keyboard cover for the iPad. Less likely are upgrades to iPod touch devices, or other devices.

Mac upgrades area possibly. An upgrade to AppleTV is also possibly, but no Apple TV set is expected.

Apple is still the dominant tablet manufacturer, but competing products, especially from Samsung, are closing in on the lead. In the second quarter of this year, Apple had 32% of the global tablet market. In the same quarter last year, the Apple iPad had 60% of global market share, according to global market intelligence firm IDC.
