Cooler Trend, High 64, Low 48 Tonight Under Clear Skies, Warming Trend Next Week

Cooler trend while we are under the influence of high pressure building over the upper Mississippi Valley and into the Western Great Lakes. Chicago area radar [LIVE RADAR] shows light precipitation moving south over southern Lake Michigan. Most of Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa are clear of clouds. Some clouds in east central Illinois. Any clouds in the area are expected to decrease during the day.

The high temperature of 63° or 64°F is expected from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Heat loss from radiative cooling into clear night skies is expected tonight with temperatures reaching 48° to 49°F between 3:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. tomorrow morning.

Fairly strong winds from the north at about 14 mph will prevail much of the day. Gusts to 20 mph are also expected today until about 3:00 p.m. Diminishing to 16 mph at 6:00 p.m. Steady winds at about 8 mph are expected after 6:00 p.m. with no gusts.
