Vehicle Burglary Attempt on East Hawthorne Street, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report about 1:37 AM Friday of a vehicle burglary attempt in the block of 500 East Hawthorne Street Arlington Heights, IL. Police responded immediately to a report that two offenders were checking car doors of multiple cars parked in two driveways between Haddow Avenue and Douglas Avenue on the north side of Hawthorne Street.

The two offenders were described as possibly a male and a female in their late teens or early 20s, and wearing bright clothing. The subjects were on bikes with large tires with wide whitewalls.

A caller disrupted their criminal activity, but did not follow the offenders. The offenders were last seen westbound on Hawthorne Street.

The crime is reported to have occurred about 1:36 a.m. Police checked the vehicles for damage and signs of intrusion. No known property loss or damage was reported.
