Two teens, who took an unauthorized leave from the 901 Kirchhoff Building Friday night, were returned to a Youth Center by alert police officers from the Arlington Heights Police Department. The Northwest Community Hospital Youth Center, which helps adolescents struggling with substance abuse, called the Arlington Heights police for help in locating two teens — a male black and a male white — who escaped out a back door.

The youths were dressed in blue hospital scrubs and were spotted near New Wilke and Central Road about 8:45 p.m. When approached by the police, both teens fled. A foot pursuit began. Both teens were eventually apprehended. The white male was apprehended just before 8:50 p.m. near Wren Lane and Central Road in Rolling Meadows — about 3,000 feet from the Northwest Community Hospital Youth Center. The black male kept running but was located a little further away near Central and Old Wilke Road at about 10:30 p.m.
