Offender Menard Allison Charged with Attempted Murder of Chicago Police Officer

Menard Allison was arrested on March 28, 2026, at 7:59 p.m., in the 6400 block of S. Green St. He was identified as the offender who, less than 15 minutes earlier, discharged a firearm in the direction of a Chicago Police officer in the 6400 block of S. Green Street (7th District). No one was struck by gunfire, and the police officer did not return fire. The offender attempted to flee on foot unsuccessfully, but was quickly taken into custody and charged accordingly.

Air bag thefts from Honda Civics in several neighborhoods …
Two black males; one seen wearing black clothing and a black surgical mask and one wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a reflective design on the right arm and upper back area and red sweatpants, are suspects in thefts of air bags in multiple Honda Civic vehicles in the Austin, Humboldt Park, Garfield Park and Tri-Taylor neighborhoods, located within the 11th (Harrison) and 15th (Austin) Districts.
In the incidents below, victims park their vehicles overnight and later discover damage and theft of the airbag. In at least one incident, the victim observed a male suspect on the inside of her vehicle while the theft was in progress after her car alarm was activated. The affected vehicles are 2016-2021 Honda Civics.
