Fatal shooting follows two other tragedies in a week near Crete, Illinois in unincorporated Will County served by the Will County Sheriff’s Office law enforcement:

1) Indiana woman Jenna Strouble charged with murder after allegedly shooting and killing on again, off again boyfriend and his parents (victims Jacob Lambert, 32, Stacy Forde, 54 and Patrick Forde, 55) in their home (shooting on Monday, March 23, 2026).

2) A grandfather and three granddaughters died in a house fire (Wednesday, March 25, 2026)

Recent armed robberies in the Gage Park neighborhood, located within the 9th (Deering) District.

The victims placed an advertisement on a social media marketplace to sell items. The offender contacted the victims and offered to buy the items listed for sale. The victims agreed to meet with the offender at listed location. Upon victim’s arrival, the offender directed the victim to the building lobby. The offender then displayed a handgun and took the items from the victim before fleeing on foot.
