Police, firefighters and paramedics from Palatine responded about, 2023 to a report of a battery with injuries at in Palatine.
Palatine Police officers responded shortly before 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 24, 2025 to a report of a man who displayed a handgun during a verbal dispute in the block of 300 South Rohlwing Road in Palatine. The victim reported that the alleged offender, identified as Hilario Sanchez, age 30, of the 1300 block of Baldwin Court, confronted him. During the argument, Sanchez briefly exposed a handgun in his pocket and threatened the victim before fleeing the area in a black Kia SUV. No injuries were reported. The victim and Sanchez were known to each other.
Palatine police officers were unable to locate Sanchez immediately following the incident. Palatine Police Detectives continued the investigation, which ultimately resulted in an arrest warrant being issued for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
On Thursday, December 4, 2025, Hilario Sanchez was taken into custody by the Elgin Police Department and transported to the Palatine Police Headquarters. He was taken to a detention hearing in Rolling Meadows on Friday, December 5, 2025 where he was released on conditions, and assigned a court date of Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. in Room 209.
