A line of thunderstorms is indicated by radar from west-central Wisconsin southwest near Rockford and heading toward the northwest suburbs. The storms would probably arrive in the northwest suburbs about 11:30 a.m. to noon. The National Weather Service expects the storms will weaken as they enter dryer, more stable air in Chicagoland. However at 9:55 a.m. radar [LIVE RADAR | Radar at 9:56 AM | Radar at 12:20 PM ] indicated the storms are strengthening as they approach Rockford. At 10 :00 a.m. counties west of Lake (IL), Cook and DuPage are under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch.

A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 89. South southwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
