Missing Palatine Man Found in Wooded Area Near Lake Cook Rd and Hicks Rd, 2 Days After Reported Missing

According to the Palatine Police Department, on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at approximately 5:30 p.m., Benjamin Brown was located in a wooded area north of Lake Cook Road near Hicks Rd. He was transported by the Palatine Fire Department paramedics to a local hospital for treatment of injuries that are not initially considered life-threatening.

Benjamin Brown was found after a day-long search near the location he was found that began early Sunday. Brown had been reported missing since Friday afternoon, October 17, 2025.

The Palatine Police Department thanks the public for their assistance in helping to locate Brown.

INITIAL REPORT WHILE MISSING …
The Palatine Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating Benjamin Brown, who was last seen on Friday, October 17, 2025, around 3:00 p.m. in the block of 600 East Pennsylvania Drive in Palatine.

Benjamin Brown is described as a white male in his late 30s, 6 feet tall, slender build, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a dark navy blue jacket, dark navy blue pants with white stripes along the legs, and dark blue athletic shoes.

Brown left his home and has not returned, and his family is concerned for his safety and well-being. Information gathered indicates he may be in need of assistance, and it is believed he could have traveled toward wooded areas or forest preserves in the area of Lake Cook Road and Hicks Road in Palatine, IL.

Witnesses reported fire department activity near Lake Cook Road between Hicks Road and Rand Road, and the body of water near Lake Cook Road, just west of Hicks Road. Be on the look out for lanes closures or road closures in the area.

There was no known MABAS Box Alarm for divers activated Sunday morning.
