Theft of Purse from Pew at First Presbyterian Church on North Dunton Ave, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report about 9:23 AM Monday of a purse theft at the First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights, 302 North Dunton Avenue Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders took a purse that was set down in a church pew. The victim, a female in her 70’s, was talking to another person when she set her purse down in the pew. She walked away form the area, and when she realized she did not have her purse with her, she immediately returned to the pew where she left her purse, and discovered her purse was gone.

The purse was described as a large shoulder bag made of a copper-colored material valued at $100. Inside the purse was a red wallet made of Morrocan leather, valued at $100. Inside the wallet was $300 in cash, a checkbook, miscellaneous personal items and a Sanyo cellphone valued at $100.

The crime is reported to have occurred on June 12, 2013 between 2:00 p.m and 2:30 p.m.
