
A Lake County Sheriff’s Deputy at about 5:35 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2025, a observed a GMC Envoy traveling westbound on Grand Avenue near Route 21 in Gurnee. The deputy confirmed the driver was Felix Guadarrama, 31, of the 100 block of Drew Lane, Waukegan. Earlier in the day, Guadarrama had been spotted in Mundelein inside a stolen Ford Explorer. During that incident, it was reported he was armed with a firearm. Guadarrama allegedly fled in the stolen vehicle fled from several police agencies multiple times throughout the day before the vehicle was recovered abandoned in Lake Forest yesterday afternoon. Investigators determined Guadarrama abandoned the stolen Explorer, and subsequently got into the GMC Envoy.
The Lake County Sheriff’s deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the GMC Envoy and Guadarrama fled, prompting a pursuit, since he was possibly armed with a firearm, and involved with the earlier vehicle theft. As the Guadarrama fled in the GMC Envoy, and approached the intersection of Grand Avenue and Dilley’s Road, he sideswiped two vehicles at very low speeds while attempting to pass through traffic. The left front tire of the GMC Envoy fell off in the sideswipe, but Guadarrama continued to flee for approximately 20 minutes.
The pursuit ended when Guadarrama’s vehicle collided with a Toyota Camry in the intersection of Glen Flora Road and Lewis Avenue, Waukegan. Guadarrama and a female passenger both fled from the GMC on foot. Following a brief foot chase, Guadarrama and his passenger, Brianna Koch, 22, of the 700 block of Frontage Road, Lake Villa were taken into custody. Guadarrama was tased by deputies during his apprehension, due to his active resistance of the arrest.
The driver of the Toyota involved in the crash was transported to an area hospital with minor, non-life-threatening injuries.
Brianna Koch was found to be in possession of approximately 24 grams of methamphetamine and 10 grams of cocaine.

After reviewing the facts and circumstances of the incident, the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office approved the following charges:
Felix Guadarrama Charges:
Four Counts of Aggravated Fleeing to Elude (Class 3/4 Felonies)
Numerous Traffic Infractions
Brianna Koch Charges:
Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine (Class 1 Felony)
Unlawful Possession of Cocaine (Class 4 Felony)
Additional charges are possible.
Both Koch and Guadarrama remain in custody in the Lake County Jail pending an initial court hearing Thursday morning, July 17, 2025.
All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
