The Weather Channel’s tornado hunt team took a direct hit from the tornado west of Oklahoma City. The team was chasing the storm near El Reno, Okla., when the storm picked up the SUV and threw it about 200 yards. Fortunately, the team survived, but they do have minor injuries. Meteorologist Mike Bettes said the airbags deployed and everyone had their seatbelts on: “I saw my life flash before my eyes.” The team also reported seeing other vehicles thrown by the storm. Oklahoma Highway Patrol says motorists have been hurt by the storm, and some others are missing.
