Armed Robbery Reported at Red Roof Inn on Algonquin Rd, Arlington Heights

UPDATE Monday April 29, 2013 2:43 PM: The armed robbery report apparently is NOT believed to be a bona fide report.

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 4:49 AM Sunday of an armed robbery with an injured victim at Red Roof Inn, 22 West Algonquin Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that two male/white subjects, at least one armed with a gun, robbed a man in the lobby of the Red Roof Inn. The victim reported he was kicked in the face. The suspects fled south toward the Shell gas station at Algonquin Road and Arlington Heights Road.

One suspect was wearing blue pants and a red hoodie. The other suspect was wearing a black hoodie.

Police cleared the scene by about 5:30 a.m. and there was no confirmation available regarding the armed robbery. No word on any charges or contact with suspects by police. No known crime information and offender descriptions were broadcast to area police departments.
