Metra Train #618 Stopped After Pedestrian Hit By the Passenger Train Near Downtown Des Plaines

UPDATE: A male pedestrian was struck by a train and killed near the downtown Des Plaines Metra station about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Inbound and outbound train movement was halted near Des Plaines due to the pedestrian incident involving train #618 about 7:30 a.m. The duration of this delay is unknown but extensive delays are expected. The westbound train is stopped just before Pearson Street at the Union Pacific crossing grade.
